I wasn’t planning on stumbling upon a crystal energy shop that day, but fate had other ideas. On February 15, 2025, while casually strolling around Starling Mall in Damansara Uptown, I found myself doing a double take at a particular stall. It had an unusual mix of skincare products and crystals, which left me momentarily confused. Naturally, curiosity got the better of me, and as I moved in for a closer look, the owner, Victor, stepped forward to patiently explain what his store was all about.

I’ll admit—I’m not the best at walking away from an engaging conversation, so I stayed and listened. And to my surprise, I ended up really enjoying the energy of the shop. There was something genuinely warm and inviting about it, and before I knew it, I had spent a good amount of time absorbing the stories behind the products.

The Story Behind the Shop

Victor’s journey into holistic healing began over 20 years ago when he met various healers and gurus from Russia and India. Initially skeptical about metaphysical practices, he gradually found meditation and past-life regression to be transformative, helping him reach a state of inner peace and emotional balance. Before opening his store, he worked in multinational corporations (MNCs), but during the MCO (Movement Control Order) period, he experienced heightened stress and negativity. This led him to discover Ayurvedic healing methods, further deepening his connection with holistic wellness.

Apart from crystals, Victor explored various passions, including bonsai cultivation, cooking, soap-making, and natural skincare formulation. His journey into essential oils, however, had a deeply personal origin. His mother, a dialysis patient, developed extreme sensitivities, prompting him to experiment with blends until he found ones that soothed her ailments. Seeing the positive effects, he expanded his creations to include skin moisturizers, salt blends, and shower gels—all infused with natural ingredients.

Crystals with a Story

Victor’s approach to crystals is unique. Rather than simply selling them, he carefully selects pieces that he has personally worked with and felt a connection to. He believes that crystals are energy generators rather than batteries—meaning their energy doesn’t get depleted but instead continues to grow and shift. Some of the crystals he sells are from his personal collection, ones that have served their purpose for him and are now ready to help others. Letting them go is often bittersweet, but he embraces the philosophy that new growth requires new tools.

When I first interacted with the crystals in his shop, I felt an immediate, tangible energy—a sensation unlike anything I had experienced in other crystal stores. The energy traveled through my palms and up to my forehead, throat, or heart, depending on the crystal’s elemental properties. One of the most intense moments was with a green phantom point wand. The moment I held it, my palms turned red, and my eyes welled up with tears. It was overwhelming. Victor, noticing my reaction, shared that he had experienced a similar emotional release with this particular stone, describing it as a powerful tool for healing past trauma.

My Purchases (A Few Too Many?)

Over the span of a few weeks, I made multiple trips back to Victor’s stall, walking away each time with something new. Here’s a rundown of what I got:

1. Essential Oil Blends – I was drawn to the oil blends because of their great quality and reasonable price. Unfortunately, the Muscle Relieve Heat Rub (Bentong Ginger) was out of stock, so I ended up purchasing the following instead:

  • Uplifting and Relieving Essential Oil – Infused with golden jojoba oil, peppermint, lemongrass, and bergamot. This blend made me feel like everything was going to be okay, filling me with courage and motivation.

  • Forest Vibes Essential Oil – A mix of mugwort, sweet marjoram, and eucalyptus, giving me the sensation of being deep in an Amazonian jungle.

  • Scent of Zen Essential Oil – Featuring sandalwood and rosewood, perfect for winding down before bed.

I loved the Uplifting and Relieving Essential Oil because it instantly lifted my mood. It’s hard to put into words, but it gave me a sense of reassurance—like everything would be okay, filling me with courage and motivation to push forward. The Forest Vibes blend transported me straight into an Amazon jungle with a hint of Vicks on my chest, while the Scent of Zen was perfect for winding down at night or whenever I needed to calm my nerves.

2. Cinnabar Bracelet – Victor explained that this raw stone, sourced from China, is unprocessed with no compression or resin injection. It’s known for helping with inflammation, heat regulation, and providing support during stressful, high-pressure periods. He personally relied on his own cinnabar bracelet during demanding times like Christmas and Chinese New Year when he had back-to-back workdays with no breaks.

For me, wearing it brought an immediate sense of calm, as if my turbulent thoughts had settled into gentle ripples. However, because of how delicate and easily scratched the stone is, I’ve decided to keep it safe at home and only wear it indoors for now.

3. Hypersthene Bracelet and Pendant – This stone felt somewhat similar to cinnabar, but instead of a purely calming effect, it helped clear my mind, improve focus and perform better. Victor suggested that it likely originates from China and described the energy as grounding yet subtly energizing. He mentioned that holding it made him feel a pulsing sensation in his palms, which is why he avoids wearing it for long meditation sessions. He recommended it for people who need extra motivation or an energetic boost during critical moments.

4. Green Phantom Crystal – Originally from Brazil, this crystal was one of Victor’s personal favorites. He described working with it as an emotional detox—helping to release deep-seated, stagnant emotions. He shared that holding it often led to unexpected eye-watering moments, as it resurfaced forgotten painful memories and past traumas that needed healing.

When I first held it, I experienced an overwhelming wave of emotion, similar to what Victor described. The energy of this stone felt powerful, and I could immediately sense its ability to facilitate deep emotional work, particularly for those dealing with grief or heart chakra blockages.

5. Moldavite Raw Stone – I had my eyes on this stone since my very first visit. It was a large piece from Victor’s older inventory, and when he offered me a slight discount (probably because I had become one of his best customers at this point), I couldn’t resist. I took it home without hesitation.

Don’t worry about my finances—I’ll figure that out later! Hahaha!

A Pricey but Worthwhile Journey

It’s safe to say that I’ve spent roughly RM6000 at this shop so far (oops). But considering the quality, the energy, and the care put into every piece, I’d say it was well worth it. Victor frequently updates his inventory and occasionally sells items from his personal collection, so I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on his stall for future finds.

If you’re ever in Starling Mall and curious about crystals or holistic wellness, I highly recommend stopping by. Who knows? You might walk in just to browse—but walk out with something that truly resonates with you.
